Irina Mirosnitsenko. SALA 2023.

“A night in ancient cities”

I like to paint ancient cities that are full of mystery, legends and charm. Their narrow streets lead to the depths of centuries. They have a lot of secrets that they sometimes share with people. By painting medieval cities, I want to show their mood and character and present little stories of their past life.

Ancient cities are beautiful at any time of the day. But at night they are full of mystery and special charm. The houses are dark, the streets are deserted, and it seems that the cities are uninhabited. But the light of windows and lanterns remind us that for many centuries life has been flowing in these cities. The pale light of the moon illuminates the paths and lonely musicians…

SALA 2023 Don Dunstan Award

“Marilyn Jetty Swim Brighton sisterhood united to raise money for Cancer Council SA”

Sally says: “I was moved by the unity and enthusiasm of the women and men swimming to raise money for the Cancer Council SA. Fundraising for Cancer is a Social Justice issue, the funds raised ensure equal rights in the education and prevention of cancer, research, early intervention, and support when diagnosed with cancer.

The sisterhood of Marilyn’s embracing each other with their hands raised above their heads, waving in solidarity was an inspiring and awesome sight. Don Dunstan would have participated and supported the Marilyn Swim perhaps even wearing his pink shorts!”

In Search of the Divine – Jessica Curtis

Jessica Curtis (In Search of the Divine) engages in creative projects and collaborations that bring the spiritual and scientific together; inspiring a higher dialogue on the themes pondered by the great mystical traditions of the Earth which looked to the stars as home.

Core to her art practice, Jessica Curtis, uses art as a transformative vehicle to assist in the reorientation of consciousness to a multi-dimensional perspective. Thus, creating a point of reference to unveil the divine template behind these times of great transition and transformation unfolding on Earth, ultimately fostering a spark of recognition of the ‘Divine Within’ and an understanding of humanity’s deep connection to the cosmos.

Jessica works in a series of mediums and forms including painting, sculpture, drawing, textile art, animation, video art, illustration and design. Jessica also conceives, collaborates and curates art events and exhibitions that provide an opportunity for artists, the art community and general public to engage with the sacred arts.

Syzygies Series

As the harmonic relationships found within the human body (ie  the Golden section, Pi & Phi) demonstrate, there is a higher coding, a higher geometry, a divine template behind our bodily design. This pattern is found throughout all of nature and dictates the complex geometries of micro-organism, virus and bacteria, single cell organisms up to the spiral patterns of galaxy and the distributions  of star in space.

The Sigis series is inspired by the book Pistis Sophia by Dr Hurtak in which it is mentioned that the Syzygies, divine pairs, come in four manifestations: female-female, man-man, female-man & God-God partnerships. At this higher levels of gnostic cosmology we are ultimately all one. All emanations of the divine image of the Creator and all versions of sexuality or pairing are primordial & emanate from a divine template.

Each of these pairs explore the theme of  “Tantra.” Each individual in a pair could be viewed as each other’s partner in life but they can also be viewed as each other’s divine double. Tantra means union or to weave. Through our realization of divinity we create the mind-link to tantrically reweave/bond ourselves into union with our own divine counterpart called the Overself, Higher Self or Godself. This union with our Overself is what the ancients call the “true marriage”, the union with our divine eternal consort, our own personal God-Human partnership.
