Marlene Nakamarra Morton comes from Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia.

She paints Karnta Jukurrpa (Women’s Ceremony Dreaming), of which the artworks consist of precise dot work.

Women’s Dreaming depicts the Nakamarra and Napurrurla women hunting for bush foods and the owners of this story are the Nakamarra and Napurrurla women and the Jakamarra and Japurrurla men. Yumurrpa and Wapurtali are two Dreaming sites owned by these skin groups including the associated bush foods found in these areas.

Yumurrpa is a major waterhole to the north-west of Yuendumu and a Yarla Bush Potato Dreaming site is found here.

The area north of Wapurtali in a Wanakiji is where the Bush Tomato Dreaming site is found.
