Patricia is an Eastern Arrente women (Central Australia)
Aunty Glenda Hayes is her Grandmother on her fathers side and Aunty Teresa Ryder is her cousin on her Fathers side.
Paula Hayes is Patricia’s Aunty, Bernadine Hayes is her cousin and Christine Brown is her Aunty.
All of these people are established artists, from whom Patricia has learnt her Dreaming stories.
“This painting is about our land when we go out bush. Wildflowers grow in different seasons, the two sides is when people get water (waterholes) – fire people will sleep around the fire then get up and look for bush food and look at the beautiful wild flowers growing around this country. Sometimes, they gather seeds from the flowers to use as bush medicine” Patricia Ellis SOLD
