Micheal D’Antonio
An avid painter throughout his teenage years, this self taught artist, a former diesel mechanic by trade, has embarked on a journey of self discovery, swapping his tools for his paintbrush.
After a serious injury Micheal was unable to return to his trade, he is now a full time artist who unveiled his passion for life, colour and art in his opening exhibition “through the eyes of pain” in Feb 2008.
Micheal has a varied style. His abstracts works are bold, heavy textured with a masculine and earthy undertone, with his current work depicting a light hearted romantic journey through life. Continually challenging himself with new techniques, he is described as spontaneous by reviewers of his works.
His pieces have been exhibited in numerous galleries and commissioned for private collections throughout South Australia and with successful sales of his work to date, Micheal has his sights set on entering the international market.
