Retro Print Clutch Purse
This beautiful, retro print clutch purse depicts an exotic scene from the painting by famous artist Paul Gauguin. This scene is one of his most Gauguin's most controversial pieces of work. A Tahitian woman is portrayed as the Madonna with Child (a huge blasphemy in earlier days).
Our range of unique, clutch bags blend contemporary design and function while giving vintage fabrics new life. The coordination of glorious, upcycled fabric and quality construction will ensure these clutch purses are cherished for years to come. The fabrics are sourced from the piles of discarded remnant fabric found in local markets around Phnom Penh. The remnants of brocades, Japanese kimono fabric, Indo-Chinese prints and retro patterns are carefully selected, washed and inspected. The fabric pieces are cut to avoid any holes and flaws and coordinating with a plain lining fabric. The result is a unique statement of upcycled chic!

Villageworks is dedicated to increasing the skills and livelihoods of over 80 women in rural areas of Cambodia. The goal for Villageworks is to bring the work to women instead of requiring them to move to work. This enables them to earn an income while maintaining the responsibilities they have to their families. Villageworks currently runs two training centres, where women from surrounding villages receive training in sewing, embroidery, and weaving. They also support many producers with disabilities who find it difficult to gain employment. Villageworks hopes to expand this model, to be able to reach more rural women.
