Allen Sparrow
(Kaurna/Ngarrindjeri, South Australia) Allen is an Aboriginal Artist from Kaurna (Yankalilla) & Ngarrindjeri (South East) Communities, South Australia. His paintings reflect traditional dot work and often incorporate figurative depictions of Australian animals, landscapes and representations of totems. These scenes depict a Story that seeks to take the viewer into country, sharing endless sand hills, bush, creeks and waterholes. Speaking about his Art, Allen explains “the earth colours I use is my connection to country. It calls me to paint and be who I am. I therefore would love to pass my teachings in artistic world to younger generation KAURNA.” |
